Birnur Guven is a research scientist at Houston Advanced research Center since October 2009; she is also a research fellow at Rice University since August 2010. She received her B.S. in Mathematics from Bogazici University in Turkey and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Rice University.
Research: Urban air toxics and hurricane-induced hazard and risk analysis.

Alireza Yazdani is a Research Associate at Rice University since September 2011. He received his BSc and MSc in Mathematics from Tehran Polytechnic (Iran) and PhD from Loughborough University (UK). Prior to joining Rice, he worked as a UK water industry consultant and Research Fellow at Cranfield Water Science Institute.
Research: Integrated analysis of topology, reliability, efficiency and water quality in Water Distribution Networks.
